Shopify product image size requirements

Short answer: Shopify product images can be at most 25 megapixels and 5000 px on the longest side. A longest side of 2048 px is recommended for sharp zoom. Because these are upper limits, oversized phone or camera photos are the usual failure, and the fix is to resize before upload.
